|Pattern Description: |
Double breasted trench style coat with cape
I bought a 44, Marfy only sell single sizes
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Marfy to not send instructions but their patterns include plenty on notations and the illustration is very detailed.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
How unique this coat was, how beautifully drafted it was and really just how elegant it is
Boucle wool, charmeuse and ice wool
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added a extra few inches to the hem as it was to short for my personal taste and would recommend enlarging the buttonholes, it benefits from bigger buttons.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am going to see it again in a silk wool as this version was very different from the original pattern. I quilted and tailored it for a challenge!
Beautiful coat, simply gorgeous to wear....its a advanced pattern and requires incredible accuracy due to all the intersecting seams but worth the time and effort in my opinion. I have put a list of construction notes on my blog for anyone interested in making it.....I am thrilled with it!
