MISSES'/MISSES' PETITE CAMISOLE & PANTS
Close-fitting, pullover top has shoulder straps, length variations and stitched hem. . . . Loose-fitting pants have drawstring waist, length variations and stitched hems.
The pants can be made below mid-calf, above ankle, and straight-legged.
I made View I pants which are straight and to the ankle.
Although the pattern is never described as being for pajamas, this is how I use it.
Available in two size groupings: XS/S/M and L/XL. My envelope is for the L/XL sizing.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very easy to follow for the pants.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
When I first sewed this pattern, I wasn't thrilled with the outcome but as time went by I noticed the pants had become my favorite pj bottoms and so I decided to revisit it.
I like the draft of the pants. The legs fit well without being overly large and I like the way the leg tapers in at the ankle. The pants are very comfortable.
I do not like the 100% drawstring waist treatment since as the fabric relaxes, I have to adjust the drawstring. This time I added a length of elastic into the casing (about 10" long), and sewed a shortened version of the drawstring to each end of the elastic. This is so some of the flex in the drawstring will be provided by the elastic and maybe the drawstrings won't need to be adjusted as frequently.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I modified the drawstring as discussed above. I also used mock flat fell seams.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes.
This is an easy pants pattern for pj bottoms or simple loungewear. I do remember the top being tricky to sew, but for the pants everything is straightforward.
