Misses’ & Miss Petite fit & flare dress & peplum top have princess seams, back zipper & cap sleeves. Pencil skirt has side zipper & walking slit. Carryall bag completes the look.
I cut a 10 at the shoulders, grading out to a 12 at the hips.
I made view B the peplum top.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, this is cleverly constructed and came together easily.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that this top is flat in the front and back and the peplum is created on the sides with a circle insert. I think that makes for a flattering fit. I feel like it could be just a tad bit longer, but I do like the finished garment.
Woven cotton from Joann.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the mistake of using a shorter zipper, which makes this hard to get on. Once it is on it fits great! I also left off the facings in favor of self bias tape. I prefer that for both construction and wear. I did accidentally place my zipper too low, which leaves a gap at the top but will remedy that next time I make this pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! While peplums are a bit trendy I think this top would be cute in a print and will definitely make again.
This was my first time making a Lisette pattern, though I own several. I think it is expertly drafted and I just love this top.
