|Pattern Description: MISSES'/MISSES' PETITE DRESS: Semi-fitted, lined dress (fitted through bust) has neckline variations and back zipper. A: self-lined sleeves. D: unlined, below elbow length sleeves.|
Pattern Sizing:B5(8-16) F5(16-24). I made a modified size 12, view A.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I love the simple but flattering lines. I also love the neckline -- not too high nor too low.
Fabric Used:a metallic knit from Joann Fabrics. The lining is a sheer chocolate brown knit lining fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Because the pattern is for lightweight wovens and I was using a knit, I went down a size (from 14 to 12). However, I still added an inch to the side pieces, which is a usual change I make for my body. I eliminated the back zipper and cut the back pieces on the fold. Also, I added a little width to the cap sleeves because I did not want them to be tight.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?yes. This is the second time I've used this pattern. I do recommend the pattern. It's a great basic that can be used many times.
Conclusion: An easy dress -- easy to wear, easy to care for, easy to make. You can read a little more on my blog
