Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very clear but not always intuitive. Oddly, I found this pattern easier to follow when a knew less about sewing - I just trusted the directions step-by-step even though I had no idea where they were going. When I re-made the dress years later with more experience I was frustrated with the order of construction.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Dislike: As others have mentioned, it would make SO much more sense to sew together the two hems (and ruffle or lace trim) first. Also as another reviewer mentioned, the armhole treatment (staystitch then clip and press in) is awkward.
Like: I did like the elastic in the neckline. It keeps the gathered pillowcase dress "look" while also allowing the self-fabric ties to be permanently attached in so that they cannot come out of the casing.
Fabric Used:Quilting cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:No alterations. Changed order of construction the 2nd time around as mentioned above.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Maybe. I like the reversibility for variety and I also like the fact that reversibility totally eliminates seam finishes against baby's body. However, it is unnecessarily complicated for such a basic dress.
Conclusion: I'm not a huge fan, but I did make the dress twice, so that's something.
