Pattern Description: Per Simplicity Amazing Fit - sewing pattern skirts. Misses’ & Miss petite skirt sewing pattern in two lengths with individual pieces given for slim, average, and curvy fit.
Pattern Sizing: US 16-24
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes, for the most part
Were the instructions easy to follow? very easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really liked the fitting tips. I made this skirt for my BFF. She and I have completely different body types making fitting a challenge. Plus, we live 600 miles apart so have the tip about basting the side seams really helped me. I dragged the skirt and some pins with me on a trip and we adjusted it quite a bit.
Dislike - No lining instructions. I ended up making a sad example of lining.
Fabric Used: Beautiful grey wool from Vogue Fabrics. I bought enough to make pants for another friend (that ended up in the trash bin) and ended up buying more fabric for another stab at pants.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Alteration for petite, unfortunately, this skirt ended up about an inch too short for her comfort. Although she has fantastic legs and could easily pull off a mini.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Planning to make it again soon. I have a beautiful red stretch gabardine that will be beautiful. It is leftover from a dress I'm making for my BFF, even more complicated fitting issues.
