Made size 16. At the stated seam allowance this was much too small. However, reducing the seam allowance slightly got the fit spot on (there are 13 seams going around the circumference!)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Largely, give or take fabric choices. My neckline ended up different, but that was largely through my error (and I'm happy enough with the result).
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Not particularly easy, but it was possible to puzzle it out. It wasn't helped by the fact that several pieces have the same name.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the pleated peplum at the back. It also does a good job of producing a Victorian look without requiring a corset.
Panne velvet + unknown synthetic
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I'm too lazy to do 24 buttonholes so the front fastens with snaps (the buttons are just for decoration). Also I attached the two centre pieces a bit lower than I should have resulting in a slightly different neckline.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It was a lot of work, but the end result was worth it.
