|Pattern Description: |
MISSES' TOPS: Close fitting, pullover tops have neck and sleeve length variation. A,B: Heart shaped yoke. C,D: Asymmetrical shaped yoke.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yep, but, you know, a dress.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Sooo easy to make, but I had to be careful to keep the front and back straight; the pattern pieces are startlingly similar. I found the fit to be ideal--not straining anywhere, but not too big either.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added as much length as I could to turn this into a dress. Then I forgot that extra length adds extra weight, cut off too many inches, and found my final version an inch shorter than I planned. Whoops. That's nothing on the pattern, though--that's just me being, um, awesome.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely sew this again, but as a top. It's too distinctive to have too many of these running around. Excited to make the version with the sweetheart neckline.
Love it as a dress: easy, comfortable, and surprisingly professional-looking. Got lots of compliments--always a good sign, right? Overall, this was a really satisfying make for something so easy.
