Pattern Description: MISSES'/MISS PETITE DRESSES: Dresses have bias, lined bodice variations, raised waist, contrast midriff, back zipper and narrow hem. A: contrast ruffles. B: back-buttoned bodice. A and B: close-fitting bodice. C and D: fitted, front pleated bodice and contrast, gathered ties (wrong side shows).
I cut a size 12, slightly smaller on the top as backs are always too big on patterns for me
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? EXACTLY. Same fabric and everything!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love everything!
-The front is a little deep cut, but it doesn't feel like it'll move or anything, so it is very comfortable. Nice not to worry!
-The back is fun for something a little different, and no bows or anything, so I can put a sweater over it if I wanted to. It is designed so you can wear a regular bra with it as well!
-LOVE the circle skirt!
-I put off making this dress for a while because I was afraid it was high-waisted, slightly empire style, which isn't always flattering on me. But the waist band hit closer to the waist than I expected so it was perfect!
Fabric Used: Something I picked up on sale. Not sure what it is. Crepe-like, very lightweight and drapey.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. I used style B for the bodice, but cut the shorter length of skirt. Still pretty long!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely sew it again! Maybe the regular back version, it would be amazingly versatile in ANY fabric. The waist hits in the right place, and with the circle skirt, it would be very flattering on almost any body type!
Great pattern. Doesn't gape or slide anywhere, so it is comfortable to wear. The bodice is a very versatile and classic style and can be used with any number of skirt styles if you wanted to frankenstein some patterns for a different look, it would be cute with a pencil skirt maybe.
Great for beginners, great as a wardrobe builder, depending on the fabric, or as a statement piece!
