|Pattern Description: |
A quick, easy to modify pattern for kids' pants and shorts.
From the website:" The Parsley Pants pattern is a basic pant made with just one pattern piece, making them so ridiculously easy and quick to sew! The basic version features an elastic waistband, but even the extras (flat front, pintucks, pouch pockets, box pleat pockets, kneepads and the tuxedo stripe) take very little time to add. You’ll be amazed at how quickly these come together!"
Available in size 2-10. I made size 7. According to the pattern sizing I should have made the 6, but I made the 7 and it fit perfectly.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were good, but the online tutorials were more detailed, especially the one for stronger seam finishing. Definitely worth checking out!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It was easy and there were a lot of variations included in the pattern. Easy to personalize it.
I used quilting cotton which worked very well.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I followed the included instructions for added pintucks on the front and back, box pleat pockets and a flat-front waistband. I top stitched and edgestitched the pockets and pocket flaps. I also used flat felled seams in the inseam. And I followed the online tutorial to make shorts from the pants pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely make this again and recommend it to others. My other kids liked the results so much they asked for a pair too.
A really great, easy pattern. I would definitely make this again.
