|Pattern Description: |
These figure-hugging capris have lovely rounded hem slits. They are that perfect middle ground between a pair of shorts and pants, for those in between days.
34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44
By my measurement I would be a size 38, but I cut a size 40, and they run a bit big on me
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
As all Burda instructions, I don't think they are written for beginners. One should have basic knowledge in garment sewing to try a Burda Magazine pattern. I made a couple of pants before and sewed the crotch seam before the side seams. Which I think is easier. It was also hard to figure out how they want the piping sewn in.
Once one figures out how to put the three pieces together it is actually very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love that this pattern has only three pattern pieces. Also the side zipper instead of a front fly. Gives it a nice finish. I wouldn't mind some pockets, but can live without.
I made three so far in different fabrics. All some kind of light cotton twill.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't make any alterations.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am in love with this pattern. I don't like shorts much, they just don't look good on me. These capri pants are the perfect summer pants for me. A very nice compromise between long pants and shorts.
I have two more fabrics waiting in my stash to be sewn into capri pants.
I love this pattern and highly recommend it!
