This is the dress I made for the Summer Street Dress Sew-Along right here on Pattern Review. I made the size small out of a bright blue and polkadot lycra type knit from Gorgeous Fabrics. The dress came out like the photo on the pattern, except that I chose to make pleats instead of gathers on the skirt.
This is a very easy pattern to sew and I whipped it out in a evening. I did chose to make the hem 1 1/4" instead of the 5/8'" allowed. My fabric is very light and I wanted the hem to have some weight to it. The only thing I found slightly annoying is the sleeve cap. On me, after I hemmed the armhole opening, the sleeve cap developed wings. They weren't there on the test fitting so I assume the turned under hem stiffened the edge. I am making this dress again and I'm going to curve the shoulder seam down to the arm edge so it will hug my shoulder more.
Otherwise, this is an easy to make, easy to throw on summer dress.
