|Pattern Description: From Simplicity: Misses hip-length blouse has neckline pleats with band or tie collar, shirttail hem, back slit. Sleeveless, flutter or cold-shoulder sleeves. Great in light weight or sheer fabrics. |
For this review, I made view C with the long neck tie.
Pattern Sizing: 6-8-10-12-14. I made size 8 and it is quite loosely fit, but that is the design of the blouse.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think so, but the black fabric that I used does not show the pleats and other details as well as the illustration on the pattern envelope.

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were clear, but I would not say that this was an "easy" pattern, partly due to the silk charmeuse I used, and partly due to some of the construction details at the neckline and the pleats. But overall, they were well written and clear in my opinion.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the feminine bow tie and the slight shirttail hem. I was going for a look that pinned on a few times on Pinterest:

The finished blouse looks similar, but less slim cut as the inspiration photos look, but I still like it.
I might go back and sew up some of the open slit at the
back of the blouse as it is quite high and comes above the waistband of most pants and skirts, thus showing some lower back skin when worn which could be both weird and "drafty", thus, uncomfortable for my taste.
Fabric Used:Silk charmeuse in black left over from a previous project.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No design changes or pattern alterations done, I just did the side, front and shoulder seams all in french seams.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I really like this top, and might make it again in view D with just the string ties.
I recommend this pattern, just be wary that it is not a beginnner pattern in my opinion, and note that it has a lot of ease and to look at the finished garment measurements before cutting out.
Conclusion: Pretty blouse top pattern that is a little different with nice finishes.
