|Pattern Description: |
Lingerie from the Big 4! Who would imagine.
I made the size 20 and added width to the bust, waist, and hip to fit me.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, considering I used an entirely different fabric.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The collar is too thick since they tell you to interface both pieces.
The pockets are too shallow.
The front facing flips forward--next time I'll probably tack or sew it down.
The belt being attached to the black is wonderful--no more lost belts!
I love the length, too.
The instructions for finishing off the hem work beautifully.
I used some burgundy colored fabric--very cheap. Quilting fabric, maybe? It's not the best choice for this, and at night it reads brown and I look like a monk, but this was a test garment for the fabric I really like, and it works!
I DO like how lightweight the fabric is. I will wear it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't do the interior ties because the cotton was "sticky" enough.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It's a very pretty robe and the pattern is like a whole little lingerie wardrobe. I like it! I have a different (slinkier) fabric in mind and think I will sew this again.
Finally, a robe I can open the door in!
(The pattern used up 5 3/8 yards, which amounts to 5 points for the fabric stash contest.)
