|Pattern Description: |
MISSES’ DRESS: Lined dress, below mid-knee or lower calf has fitted bodice with neckline variations, midriff and back zipper, flared circular skirt with or without ruffle.
I made view A but without the sash.

The pattern goes from 8-16, I made a size 14. I was worried becaue the fabric I used for my muslin was more flexible so when it came to making the dress in the final fabric it was stiffer and I thought it was going to be much too small, but it fits great in the end. It's a very tight fitting bodice, but that is what I like about this dress.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Most of the instructions were easy but as other reviews have stated the underbodice piece is very confusing. It is also very difficult to get the front part right, I had to use some creative stitching there to get it right.

Underbodice as seen from the inside out
Seeing as I am the only one to see the inside of the underbodice (and you with this photo!) I don't mind as much that it isn't perfect, but it would have been nice to get it right.
I put in an invisible zipper using Sunni's class at Craftsy and didn't really look at the instructions for the zipper in the pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the fitted bodice and wide skirt. I think the shape of the bodice is very flattering. I very much like the way the back is drafted, it fits beautifully.
I think it's a cotton fabric
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I changed the way I put in the invisible zipper. I also finished the armholes with some bought bias tape.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'm not sure if I would sew it again. It is a great dress but it was very difficult and sometimes frustrating to get the center front right. Maybe when I am more experienced.
A difficult pattern but a lovely dress. And even though it is difficult, it was still doable for a beginner like me. I made this dress for a party and have been working on it slowly for a long time (I was sometimes to intimidated to go further and had to take a break to sew something easier). I cannot believe how proud I am of this dress! I cannot believe I actually made this dress myself and am looking forward to the reactions at the party.
What I am most proud of are my matching seams all around, inside and out!
