Semi-fitted sleeveless blouse with triangle cut-out neckline and buttoned lower back. The pattern includes a Peter Pan collar variation.
European sizes 34 to 46
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes in that they were the same rough shape. But mine was a shoody copy.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Not for someone as inexperienced as me! The pattern was rated as advanced, but I hoped leaving the button holes out and going slowly would simplify it. It doesn't!
D&D don't hold your hand all the way through the construction, but with a bit of experience I imagine it wouldn't be a problem.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a beautifully designed product and the instruction booklet is charming. The pattern is printed on lovely thick paper so will last.
I loved the design details of the top, the cut outs are lovely.
I wasn't keen on the sizing, but I think it's just designed for women with a bit more in the hip area.
Medium weight cotton - big mistake! This needs something lighter and softer with a bit more drape.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut out a fair amount round the hips to stop it flapping around but this led to strange pulling at the back.
Also I just sewed the buttons straight onto the back so they aren't functional.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, when my fitting skills are better! And I would definitely recommend it, but only to experienced sewers.
Beautiful garment in the website photos, lovely pattern, difficult to get right!
I wrote a bit more about it on my blog which you can see here
