|Pattern Description: Faux wrap bodice dress with elastic waist and high-low hem.|
Pattern Sizing:XS - XXL, I made an XS
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, although the pattern envelope illustration isn't all that inspiring.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Instructions are fine, the construction is very simple.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I bought this pattern because I've been looking for an interesting but simple style to use with beautiful but slippery fabrics. No zipper, no darts, simple raglan sleeves, but the end garment feels stylish without looking like a sack. For me, the extended shoulders balance my hips and the moderate fullness in the skirt glosses over... while the elastic waist gives definition. And a V-neckline is always flattering, mine isn't too low or prone to gaping.
Fabric Used:A poly taupe/blue animal spot print - not something I would generally buy, but a perfect match to my taupe sandals. Buy the shoes - make the dress to match!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I did my usual above waist petiting, although no provision is made. I just folded out my standard 1 1/4" about 3" above the waist. I thought the high-low hemline wasn't dramatic enough in the shorter version, so I added to the center back length. Left off the pockets, bulk over my hips is the last thing I need.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I expect to make this several more times. The high-low hem is on trend this summer, but a level hem in the future will keep the style from being too memorable.
Conclusion: A very quick dress to make, but no shortage of style!
