Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, exactly like view D.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a very simple dress to construct and the directions were clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked that the pattern for view D is only two pattern pieces. You sew the side seams and shoulder seams and then finish the neckline, armholes, and hem. I used a double needle in my sewing machine for the hem, neckline, and armhole finishing. I used a method shown in a brief Jalie video on YouTube for doing the side seams. It made it very easy to match stripes. If I hadn't been matching the stripes, I probably would have used my serger .
Fabric Used: It was in my stash and all I can say is that it is a lightweight knit. When you stand in the light it is definitely see through so I wore a slip with it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened it at both shortening lines by folding out an inch as I am 5' 3". I did not want it too long and something I'd be tripping over -- just ankle length and that is pretty much what it is. In order to wear it more places, I will probably raise the neckline an inch as so many have recommended and also cut the shoulder at least one size down to pull the armhole (and neckline) up a little. i may sew it in a 12 next time. Of course, a different knit may fit differently. The pattern does say that this may be made in a lightweight woven BTW.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I plan to sew this again very soon and I definitely recommend it to others. It was a 2012 Best Pattern and has many reviews already. I have purchased New Look 6210 which is similar but has a back seam and neck/arm bands.
Conclusion: Easy pattern that gives a very nice result.
