|Pattern Description: |
Slim pants in two lengths
I made a 14, I wear a 6 or 8 in rtw
6>Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes before I modified the legs
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like where the waistband sits and I like the fit a lot. I love the stripe down the side, which I cut on the bias to make it pop out a bit, since I wasn't using a contrast.
I did not like the cut of the legs at all. I thought they were much wider than they look on the envelope, especially in the knees.
Also, both views are made from the same pattern pieces, but only view A has the pin tuck sewn down the length of the front legs. Seems to me this would affect both the fit of the legs and the fit of the waistband onto the pants, since the waistband remains the same for both views. That might cause problems if you're using a fabric with no stretch.
I used a cotton denim-like fabric with a bit of stretch, I'm not really sure exactly what it's called.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I narrowed the legs quite a bit before sewing the crotch seam. I copied the inner leg seam from a pair of semi-skinny jeans I had.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I think I'll probably make these again in some other fabrics. I think a black with a black satin stripe would be classy and a color, like pink, would be fun too.
This is a great-fitting pair of pants and a modern cut. The rise of the waistband is perfect, in my opinion, not too low, not too high. I highly recommend
