Pattern Description: Semi-fitted pullover blouse features neckline and sleeve variations and optional fabric belt. View A has a notched neckline and cap sleeves. View B has a contrast Peter Pan collar and elbow-length sleeves. View C has long sleeves with cuffs and a round neckline. Mix and match any sleeve with any neckline for unlimited possibilities.
Pattern Sizing:0-16. I made a 6, though my measurements are closer to an 8.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, of course! Sewaholic always has great instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Likes: great flattering style, very cool in the summer, and an interesting neckline. GREAT for prints as there's minimal seams to worry about matching.
Dislikes: runs large - I went a size down and could have gone probably two sizes down. I also hated the 5/8" seam allowances at the neckline, which make sewing that notch much harder! I trimmed the pattern down using my SACurve ruler as soon as I was done with this blouse.
Fabric Used: Rayon challis (Gorgeous Fabrics)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Took in the back waist darts 2" and extended them a bit more at the top and bottom. I also did a lazy broad back adjustment by tracing an 8 for the back. I did not have to do anything to the sleeve width, there was plenty of ease for even my large arms. I found the hem width a bit wide - I think I have less fullness in my upper hip than what Sewaholic drafts for.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, it is a good pattern for printed fabrics. It is a bit cutesy but not overly so, and it layers well under a denim jacket. It works for an office but also makes a nice vacation blouse. I highly recommend it to beginners because of the simple styling and great instructions.
