|Pattern Description: Junior and Misses' Sports Separates I sewed the blouse.|
Pattern Sizing: Vintage Juniors 9-15; Misses 10-18. I sewed a 14, 34B-26W-36H
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes very
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that the top is only three pieces: front, back and collar. The front facing folds back to no separate piece for that.
I also like the released tucks at the waistline.
Fabric Used: 100% Cotton Seersucker purchased at Discount Fabrics from PR Weekend San Francisco.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None except I added 1/4" at the center back fold and sewed the side seams smaller that 5/8" I did this anticipating a fitted vintage blouse and as the blouse is for an active outdoor vacation, I wanted to be sure there was enough room.
I did find that the bust darts were a bit high, even for a vintage pattern. So check this for adjustment if necessary.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes.
Conclusion: *MORE PICTURES AT END OF REVIEW*
This is a classic style sporty blouse that had cute vintage detailing like the released darts. It went together well, and was pretty quick because of the simple construction.
It's roomier, in my opinion, than most vintage blouses. This could be because it's designed to be sporty in the first place.
I had a hysterectomy in May and the recovery went well. Because I'm feeling better than I have in years, we decided to take our vacation in the Colorado Rockies where we'll be hiking, fishing, horseback riding and maybe off roading. I wanted a top that would be comfortable AND feminine AND cute for all of these activities. This top does it perfectly!
