|Pattern Description: Summer Basic #2 Cap sleeve jersey top that is fairly loose around the waist but futs snugly at the hips.|
Pattern Sizing:34-52. I made a 48.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much
Were the instructions easy to follow?Typical Ottobre instructions, brief but good.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This patterns curves out around the waist to make the waist extra wide and then cinches back in at the hip. It creates a pool of fabric just above the hip. Popular style now but not sure how it really works for my plus-sized figure.
Patterns is really simple (just a front and back) and goes together really quickly.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I typically need a FBA but since this pattern is loose fitting I just fudged it a bit by adding some extra width to the front side seam.
I also raised the front shoulder seam a bit (this is a typical adjustment for me).
I didn't add to the length...which at 5'10" I often need to do. The drape of the extra fabric around the hips might work better if it was just a bit longer and tighter at the hip.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I do like the ease and simplicity of this top. I may make another version but take out some of the curve at the waist so there is less fabric pooling there.
Or I could go the other way and add some length and make it a bit tighter at the hip to make the pooling more pronounced.
Good basic top, simple pattern that works well as is but also could lend itself to some easy modifications for different looks.
