|Pattern Description: From the Cake listing on etsy:|
"The Tiramisu Dress is the first offering from Cake: Knit knee-length dress with front surplice (mock wrap) neckline, short kimono sleeves and an easily customizable midriff section. The skirt features in-seam pockets and falls in the soft folds of a vintage half-circle skirt. The pattern includes optional stripes placement guide, cup sizing A-D and a bust alteration line."

Custom sizing by bust, waist, and hip measurements.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! And I love that Step used a curvier "model" for the illustrations.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. The instructions are both concise and detailed. Perfect for a time-challenged seamstress like myself. You won't learn couture methods from Cake patterns, but you will get a very wearable garment.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Likes: The custom sizing is something really unique for Cake patterns. I was cautious and went up 1.5" for my bust and waist sizes, but really didn't need to and should have trusted the pattern. (I'll do that in the future.) The final dress is a great, everyday dress that's office-appropriate. I definitely see a few more of these in my future.
Oh, and the stripe-matching guide works like magic! I hate matching plaids, stripes, etc. But for this dress, just line up your stripe on Steph's guideline, and you'll get perfectly matched stripes!
Cotton jersey from Gorgeous Fabrics. This is the same fabric that I used in my Cabarita knit top.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None, this time. In the text version, I'll shorten the midriff band a touch and increase the cross-over section at the bust for more coverage (there's plenty of bust room in this).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will absolutely sew this again. I'm going to try to get 1 or 2 more versions done in the next 2 weeks before our big move when my sewing gear will be re-packed again.
Great basic dress that definitely lives up to the pattern billing. I can't believe that I waited this long to jump on the Tiramisu bandwagon!
