Cardigans have wide hems at outer edges and full length sleeves. View A has angled fronts and front extends forming collar. View B has hood and patch pockets.
This time I've made View A on a whim for Mum and purple netting for moi.
I also needed to do a quick pattern to energise me for some more compicated sewing I had to make for a test pattern I'll show you soon. This pattern was the perfect pill to help me recover my sewing energy.
Xs - XL. I've made the large size for Mum. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Kwik Sew have simple instructions.
I love how Kwik Sew also notes what each side of the pattern is ie front top, bottom etc.
This really makes their patterns easy to work with and piece together easily.
I enjoy sewing the 6mm seams especially with the overlocker. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the simple lines in this pattern.
The collar is easy to put together. This collar style suits my Mum. Click here for the front view.
The front has a lot of fabric so I've taken some out for the second version of this view. Fabric Used:
This is a pretty white lace with large roses in it.
The fabric is heavy but soft.
It's a fashion piece. Click here for the back view. Here's the shoulder view. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I've shortened the sleeves to fit Mum.
I've kept the volume to see how puffy it is.
I've also used 'seams great' on all the seams because the knit lace has regular gaps and I want this cardigan to be washable. The cardi now has stable seams and can be washed.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Version 2 is a dark colour and I've folded out some of the volume from the front jacket piece.
This version is a pretty layer and is not functional but a girl's got to have some pretty pieces in her collection. Conclusion:
Kwik Sew put a lot of thought into making their patterns very useable and reusable. I love multi-sizing patterns.
