|Pattern Description: |
Trendy short jacket dress with beautiful pleated skirt.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, pretty close.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were minimal, and I did a lot of head-scratching along the way, but with a couple of exceptions they were actually very good. It would be fine for a more experienced sewist, I'm sure. There was one typo or translation issue about enclosing the front facing in the back panel seam allowance that took me a little while to figure out. It also would have been helpful if they'd indicated which way to press seams (toward the center front), because it ends up being important so that the facing can enclose the seam.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the shape, the cropped length, and especially the curved front hem. And now having made it, I'm in awe of how well all the pieces fit together.
Dislikes: This was my first time adding seam allowances to a pattern, and I found it a little confusing to do it because was so hard to grasp how the pieces would come together. As a result, I think I distorted the shape of the back neck facing, which made the collar a little weird in the back. If I make it again, I think I'll add some extra ease to that piece.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made a straight 44, which was right for my measurements. It fits well, though it's oddly a little snug on the lower arm. But I could not have altered this pattern if I had wanted to!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I would like to make another one in navy. I think this will be a super useful piece to wear with dresses in early summer and early fall.
I'm proud of this make!
