I have this pattern, I wanted it for the light jacket so I'm eagerly awaiting a pic of you in it. That fabric? Awesome. I've been looking for something like that online for weeks. Cute to death, girl!

Very nice jacket - especially like how you modified to highlight your gorgeous zipper. Great fabric!

Great jacket! I used the same print in a different colorway and fabric to make my daughter a dance skirt. I like the zipper too. Is it chunkier than most (never having seen any rhinestone zips)? Where can I buy them?

Everything about this jacket is wonderful -- the fabric, the lines, the zipper -- I really must try a Simplicity pattern! Can't wait to see it on you.

I love this pattern. Sadly, they didn't make it anywhere close to a size I want buy. Size discrimination!!! I love the jacket and the zipper if awesome.

I'm glad you got it to work but I just tried a muslin of this pattern and threw it away!!! There were numerous mistakes in the pattern drafting - the back neck facing was 1" too short and the "side-seam" (which is actually in the back) wasn't trued properly. The armhole was horrid! I debated trying to re-draft it but decided it wasn't worth my time when I have so many other patterns that are properly drafted!

Wow, Ruth, that's too bad. I had none of those problems. Maybe there was a bad printing? -Ann

Love the fresh spring-y print! Hope you enjoy Cynthia's workshop. I took it when I very first started sewing and I am eternally grateful for the things she ingrained into my brain. () Recommendation #1: go with specific fit questions!

Your jacket is a beautiful marriage of design and fabric. The simple lines of the jacket really complement your print fabric! Beautiful job.

Wow, Ann, this is one really great jacket! Like everyone else, I love the print, the zipper is to die for & how you've put them together in this pattern is awesome! Love it!

Great jacket, & I agree - fabulous zipper. At first glance at the picture, I thought you had stopped the zipper short and had hooks above it - the zipper even looks good partially unzipped.

Ann, I want to make this jacket, but I don't see anywhere that it calls for a zipper. Did you just add this on your own? The notions required on the envelope are three buttons, which are optional. If the zipper is something you just did on your own, what length would you recommend??? Thanks, and your jacket is GORGEOUS!!!!

Thanks Keri, and everyone else! Keri, if you look at the section of the review titled "Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made", the second paragraph tells how I did the zipper. Good question about the zipper length - I forgot to mention it, sorry. The zipper is 20 inches long. That was the perfect length for the jacket. -Ann

Brilliant - it never would have occured to me to use the rhinestone zipper with that fabric. Ann - you should wear this to class Tuesday night - I think you'll really inspire the students!

Thanks so much for reviewing this pattern. I am planning to make the jacket up in burnt orange pinwale corduroy for the Timmel SWAP 2008. I am unsure whether to make the short or long version, and it looks quite short on you (I can see the pockets on your jeans) thanks for including that pic btw.
