Pattern Description: This is a Child's Half-circle pinafore from the Good housekeepping New Complete Book of Needlecraft by Vera P. Guild.
This is the line drawing of the pattern showing the rick rack trim and applique positions. I did my own trims and no applique. line drawing Pattern Sizing: It just says 'Child's' but it is about a size 18 month to 2 yrs size.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, even though I altered it a bit.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. The pattern is a diagram with measurment numbers and you just fold, measure and cut. It is a half-circle with armholes and a neck curve cut out of it. It also has instructions for an applique with rick rack trim.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I have been interested in the pattern for a long time because of it's simplicity. I didn't like the way the shoulders are shaped.
Fabric Used: Cotton prints.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I followed the pattern for the red and white one, leaving off the applique. For the Yellow floral I gathered the neck curve a bit to give the shoulders a better slope.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? The sewing was easy but I won't sew it again until I have talked to the mother to see if she likes it. I'm still not totally in love with the shoulder slope. It seems unnatural. I could change it with a dart on each shoulder, but not until I've seen it worn and played in.
