Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yep! I basically decided on dimensions and hem/seam widths and sewed.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
They were a necessity that made me very happy that I can sew.
Cotton/poly blend from WalMart ($1.00/yd clearance)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I had read several tutes that mentioned making the rod opening 1". That was far too small, and I have a normal diameter rod. I ended up using the hem edge (with a 4" opening) to hang. Next time I'll make a 2" opening...well, if I need to sew curtains again.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
If I have the need for curtains...and could sew them cheaper than buying -- or I've the RIGHT fabric for that room -- I would.
This was really easy, and only mildly time consuming. I think it took 3 hours start to finish. The first panel took twice as long as the second one.
I had some 3/4" fusible web that made life much easier. I figured I had to press the seams anyway so it wasn't taking any extra work to use the fusible and I only needed pins at the start and finish of the seams.
They are perfect for the family room (that backs up to the woods). The bare patio door was freaking the kids out at night.
