|Pattern Description: A classic button down shirt pattern.|
Pattern Sizing: 0 - 18. The size 8 is for a 36" bust. My high bust is 36", so that's where I started, and I added a darted FBA to accommodate my full bust. I was happy with the resulting fit.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much, though I was using a Burberry button down shirt as inspiration.
On me, sleeves rolled up
On me, sleeves worn long
Back on me
Inspiration Burberry shirt
Were the instructions easy to follow? Sure, though I changed things around a bit, including the order.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked that it is a classic, well drafted, button down shirt pattern. I was influenced to try this pattern by the love for it in the general sewing community.
Fabric Used: A giant plaid taffeta of unknown fiber, but I think it's a blend that includes a synthetic and also (probably) rayon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I narrowed the shoulders by 1/2", which is much less than I do in a Big 4 pattern. I knew the sleeves would be long, but as I mostly plan to wear them rolled up, I decided to leave them long.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I will sew this pattern again. This is a nice pattern, well drafted, and a great TNT basic.
Conclusion: A nice classic shirt pattern. More on the blog.
