|Pattern Description: |
Misses' semi-fitted A-line dress and jumpsuit, has a scoop neckline with front button closure, is short-sleeved or sleeveless with bust and waist darts. Front waist darts have inserted ties that go around the waist before being attached to the front.
I made the sleeveless jumpsuit (view D).
I cut and sewed a size 11 (between 10 and 12).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, both jumpsuits look similar to the drawing. Please note that the drawing on the pattern enveloppe does not show the bust darts.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were very clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the ties that wrap completely the back of the waist before being knotted to the front.
The jumpsuits are front buttoned down to the hip level, and it is easy to put them on and to pull them off.
I have no dislikes.
Jumpsuit #1: Cotton.
Jumpsuit #2: Rayon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
For both jumpsuits, I narrowed the back neckline 1" by taking and grading in the center back seam, from the waist to the neck edge.
Legs of the jumpsuits were lengthened by 5 1/4" and finished with a 5/8" narrow hem.
Jumpsuit #1 has 3/4" wide buttons sewn to the left front instead of the 5/8" suggested. A self-fabric bias binding was used to finish the armhole raw edges.
Jumpsuit #2 has the edge of the neckline and armholes topstiched. Six buttons instead of seven were sewn to the front.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I do not plan to sew it again in the near future, but I would recommend it to others, as the jumpsuits were very simple to make.
Comfortable and easy to wear.
