|Pattern Description: vintage, retro 1950s Misses'/Misses' Petite Dress and Cummerbund|
Pattern Sizing: sizes 14-22, but I sized mine up to a 24
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? this was an easy pattern to make, but the shoulders are quite wide, limiting some range of motion. But overall, its a good pattern.
Fabric Used: cotton shirting with broadcloth lining on bodice only.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I sized it up to a 24 and left the side zipper out (I made this pattern before and found it wasn't really necessary.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I've made both views, so, theoreticly, I think I'm done. But it is such a quick and easy pattern that i will be hanging on to it just in case.
Conclusion: think light. there is a lot of fabric in the skirt and any fabric heavier that broadcloth is going to be too stiff. Also, I pleated this one and gathered the first that I made and I much prefer the pleated version.
