Pattern Description: "This new fashionable knit dress is so versatile, shorten it and wear it with leggings or wear it as a dress with your boots or ballet flats. Put your own creativity in by adding contrast pockets, why not try leather, this is the latest new look!"
Pattern Sizing: 6 - 30. I made a size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, although I left off the pockets.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow the instructions (this is becoming a recurring theme!). Please note, StyleARC's instructions are known for being brief.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? A simple flattering A-line dress that can be made up in a ponte or a woven. The pattern includes two sleeve and dress lengths.
Fabric Used: Ponte
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the shorter dress with the shorter sleeve. I left off the pockets (personal preference). I eliminated the zip (as I could get the dress over my head without it) and cut the back piece of the fold along the stitch line. No zip meant I was able to ignore the suggested facings and bind the neckline. I lengthened the bust darts by 1 inch and the sleeves were set in using a 5/8 inch seam allowance (rather than the suggested 3/8 inch).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be sewing this again. I've ordered some ponte in a fabulous chartreuse colour for my next winter version. I'll be pulling out this pattern again when the weather warms us to make a cotton version or two (but in the longer length!). I would recommend it to others.
Conclusion: A simple A-line dress that can be adapted as winter or summer outfit depending if you use a ponte or woven fabric. For me, this pattern will be a great wardrobe builder.
