Pattern Description: close fitting, pull over top with back slit, narrow hem and hook and eye closure.
Pattern Sizing: From 6 to 22. I used 14-16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Mostly it did, the pink top on the model was the inspiration for this top. I chose not to use the collar.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were easy to follow, basically well written. I referred to them as needed.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the look of the top, particularly the lace knit and underlay. The pattern seems true to size. I normally make adjustments to patterns to suit my shape and size. I did make a FBA and removed that dart from the lace knit but kept it for the knit underlay. I needed to add some fullness at high hip area in back and did not do this when making fitting adjustments to the paper pattern. This resulted in my reducing the center back seam from waist to hip and side seams in the same area. Fabric Used: Fabric used was a lace knit fabric that I acquired perhaps 4 or 5 years ago. I thought I had purchased it at a national ASG conference but realized I had purchased it from Hancock's in my area before they closed. The underlay is a knit lining fabric that I acquired from Emma One Sock probably 4 or 5 years ago also. The lace knit has a lot of body to it but still was sheer enough to require the underlay.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I mentioned some alterations above. I made a forward shoulder adjustment and folded a vertical tuck in the upper chest and back area. I made a swayback adjustment, trimmed out about 3/8 at neckline as it was rather high which was another feature that I liked about the pattern, the jewel neckline. I also laid out the pattern on the fabric to take advantage of the scalloped lace edge so that became the bottom of the top and sleeves thus no hemming required except for the lace underlay. Scallop edge Hand on hip view Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I like this pattern and will definitely consider using it again. I have so many other patterns I am wanting to sew that this may sit for a period of time before using again. I do recommend the pattern
Conclusion: Good pattern. Sewing level good for beginners as well as the more advanced sewists.
