This is a review of the lovely top with pleating detail. The pattern can be made dress length, has a jacket and pants options.
Misses and Womens. I'm on the upper range of Womens.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it was LOVELY! I've made it in a cheap poly and now in ritzy silk crepe-back satin, and I love the flattering lines.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were simple to follow. There isn't much to sewing this up. (Yea!!)
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love how the bust fitting is translated to the beautiful center pleating. It's a lovely, soft look.
I made this for a wedding in a luscious Silk crepe-backed satin from C&J Textiles. (oooh, so ritzy!!!)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made very minimal changes. The pleating is much more forgiving to fit the bust than darts would be, and creates a softer look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This isn't the first one I made. I did this about 4 years ago and just LOVED the pattern, but I lost it. For this wedding, I bit the bullet and bought another copy of the pattern so I could make it again. I'm glad I did and will NOT lose it again. It's too pretty to lose.
A very pretty design that flatters both Misses and Womens sizes, at least us gals with large busts!
