Pattern Sizing:34-44 I made the 44 though that would normally be large for me based on grays08's review Here
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Not particularly but once you've made it they make sense
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The assymetry--this is as close as I have come so far to this current trend but it seemed nice and fitting for my advanced years.
I also liked the gathered strap forming one sleeve.
Fabric Used:Cotton lycra knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I decreased the side SA to 3/8" and smoothed the dramatic curve at the waist when copying the pattern about 1/4" at the point of greatest curve and about 1" on either side.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will sew this again now that I have it figured out. I referenced grays08 review, particularly re: the tucks. I think what she was saying is that they are not tucked to the underside so that the outside is smooth as one might expect. These tucks actually stand up and guide fabric into the gathers--they do not show once the tee is together but simply look like part of the gathered strap; some very clever mind figured that one out.
I do recommend this--it is a great addition to a summer tee wardrobe--but beginners should proceed with care and attention to instructions.
Conclusion: Looking at the photos, I see a pair of white slacks without a front zipper in my near future--I even have the pattern in mind--my figure challenges to do not handle front closures well. I love the finished look of this top and it isn't difficult after the first time through. I may smooth out the waist a bit more but, then again, that might simply showcase the needed sway back adjustment which I never intend to do on this pattern--some things are better left alone. I am happy that I made the larger size--I would not want it to be any more snug.
