Misses Dress, Tunic or Top, Skirt and Pants - halter top with sweetheart neckline in top, tunic or dress length.
Pattern Sizing: 6-16 in one envelope
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, except for the hemline change I made.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the neckline on this pattern.
Fabric Used: Cotton.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This fabric is very busy and quite a big print making matching pretty much impossible. I did spend quite a bit of time matching the pockets because breaking up the print for those would have been too distracting. I also drafted a contrasting scalloped hem to carry through the theme of the food trucks with their bright scalloped awnings.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is the second time I have used this pattern. It is kind of recognizable but a really great design for a summer dress or top.
Conclusion: My daughter is a resident physician at Johns Hopkins and she mentions the food trucks often. The line the street near the hospital with their colorful awnings at lunchtime. When I saw this fabric, I thought it would be fun to make her a food truck dress to wear on the days when the Gypsy Queen is in the line with their famous soft-shell crab-filled waffle cones.
