Close fitting pull-over tops have scoop neckline. View A has cowl collar and full length sleeves. View B is sleeveless and neckline and armholes are finished with self fabric bindings. View A and B necklines can be interchanged (fabric requirement will vary). Pattern Sizing:
XS-XL Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Oh yes! Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, like all Kwik Sew Patterns! What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love how the cowl drapes on this pattern and is not to volumninous. I like how it is a separate pattern piece and that the undercollar is significantly smaller than the upper collar, giving the cowl a nice roll and hiding the seam line. A really great basic that fits well. Fabric Used:
Viscose jersey Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Some bloggers have said that the seam allowance for the cowl shows through a bit at the very front (ie: flips up). I mitigate this by overlocking the edge at about 1.5cm and using a straight stitch to sew it to the bodice. You can see this from the outside, but it doesn't matter because the cowl covers it. I also shortened the sleeves to 3/4 length as I think it's more flattering and less overwhelming that way. Piccies of this alteration on my blog http://coutureacademic.wordpress.com/2013/07/14/a-new-ol-faithful-kwik-sew-3740/ Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Oh yes, it's on the 'Ol Faithful' pattern pile! Conclusion:
Fabulous top - try it, you won't regret! Very deserving of its Top10 status!
