Pattern Description: Simple dress with tucks in front and back and puffed sleeves with elastic at bottom and neckline edges.
Pattern Sizing:98-122. I made the 98
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, though they refer you to a different dress for everything but the tucks
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that it's a little variety on the dresses seen everywhere that are just elastic all the way across the arms and bodice.
Fabric Used: Cotton bastiste for the dress shown and seersucker for the first version that I made.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:The first version I made as instructed. For this version, I made the tucks 5 inches instead of 3 1/2. Both version are nice, but the longer tucks definitely are only good for a thin child and if my bear cub gains weight, I'm not sure it will fit her comfortably.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I wasn't that excited about it after making the first one, but I like this dress more each time one of my girls wears it.
Conclusion: It's a nice dress to practice making tucks, if you haven't made them before and if you have, it really doesn't add much sewing time to make this versus another kid's peasant style dress.
