Dress with draped bodice and hi/low hem Pattern Sizing:
44 Marfy only sell individual sizes Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
The bodice absolutely but I ended up changing the skirt length
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Marfy do not provide instructions but their patterns are filled with notations and line up marks. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved the bodice pattern, but the skirt was a nightmare Fabric Used:
Silk Charmeuse and a silk organza underlining Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I removed a lot of length from the back of the skirt Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would make the bodice again but not the skirt Conclusion:
This is a tough dress, its basically a 3 yard circle skirt with a seam middle front and back. The bodice was a beauty and I personally think would suit a huge range of figures/bust sizes and can be fitted in stages which was great. Its simple to make but so elegant. The skirt however was a nightmare. Just to much fabric, to much gathering. A very odd length. I ended up cutting it to just above my knees, but because of the circle design and the bias areas it took four days to settle. It was a huge amount of work and far to frustrating for the outcome however I love the bodice and will use it again!
