From the pattern envelope: "Semi-fitted slightly flared pants have raised waist with mock band, carriers, side front pockets, fly front zipper and hook closure. Purchased belt. Bias, self-binding finishes waist facing."
I just like to add extremely comfortable!
Multi-sized pattern A5 (6-8-10-12-14) and E5 (14-16-18-20-22)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, for the most part. I did leave off the belt loops.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were excellent.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that this is a multi-sized pattern and that helped with fitting issues. I also like the raised waist. The pockets are a nice size. Actually, I have no dislikes about the pattern. My only complaint has to do with my own budha belly that reminds me to fit in some exercise time into my sewing schedule.
I used a 100% wool suiting fabric for the pants and 100% polyester lining for the pockets and fly.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the pattern piece 4" and left off the belt loops.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Without a doubt, I already have fabric in mind for the next pair. I would highly recommend giving these pants a try.
The pattern is rated "advanced" but don't let that scare you from trying this pattern. I didn't find the pants difficult to make at all. I did take my time with the zipper installation but it all worked out great. I would say if you're in the market for a pants pattern to give this a try. You can see more details and photos here and here.
