Pattern Description: Easy cowl top. Pattern also includes other variations of top and a skirt.
Pattern Sizing: Size A (US 8-18)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did except mine was closer fitting than the photo on the model on the pattern envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were quite easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the cowl neck and the flattering shaping of the top. The cowl facing was too small which I altered. I think this pattern runs a little on the small side, because I cut my usual size 12 for a knit, but I found this was to tight.
Fabric Used: I made three of these tops and for each one I used a poly jersey with lycra. They were quite stretchy and my sewing machine didn't like them. I had trouble with skipped stitches etc, even using a jersey needle and a walking foot.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I widened the cowl facing Click Here
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will definitely be sewing this one again in the summer. Now I have all the fit issues ironed out, I will probably make several of these when the weather warms up.
Conclusion: A cute and easy to sew basic top that every girl needs in her summer wardrobe. More photos on my blog Sew, Jean Margaret
