Great easy versatile jacket featuring a soft peplum with tucks falling from the princess line. The sleeve has a slit cuff that can be worn up or down. Wear it with or without a waisted belt or dress it up with an interesting stud closure (From StyleArc website)
Single sizes from 6 to 30 - I chose 26 and graded up.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I think so
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Not really. StyleArc instructions are more of construction notes. I used the PR reviews from PattyE and Margy to help me.
The pattern asks you to cut 2 pair of cuffs but you only need one.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It goes together really well. Even with the added seam allowance and added width - it all still fitted together really well. It looks fashionable and is comfy at the same time.
A gorgeous double sided knit from Remnants Warehouse. Wish I had bought the whole roll.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I purchased a couple of sizes smaller and add 2 inches to the sides and sleeve. This helps me to get a better fit on the shoulders. If I choose the right size for my bust and waist it swims on my shoulders. This happens with all pattern companies. It is the shape of my body.
I also added shoulder pads. I am going to change the shoulder pads to smaller ones as I think they show up too much.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would definitely recommend it. This is my second version so I will move on now.
This is a great little jacket that bridges the gap between casual and classic.
