Pattern Description: Dress with pleated bodice and tie back
Pattern Sizing: I made a size 12, my usual for Simplicity patterns
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it looks like the illustration. I wish they had used a less busy fabric in the sample so that you could see what it actually looks like
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, you need to go slowly and follow them exactly to get a good result
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pleating was a fun challenge and it's a very flirty feminine design.
Fabric Used: organic cotton sateen
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I read the previous reviews that said that the lining pieces were drafted a little too short. I added an inch to them when I cut my fabric and then trimmed it to match the bodice after it was assembled. Thanks pattern review for the heads up
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Maybe, it's a very distinctive design and feels a little formal for a sundress. I think this would make fantastic bridesmaid dresses.
