Pattern Description: Top has rounded, lowered neckline, back button closing, short set-in sleeves, and scalloped detail in front at lower edge.
Pattern Sizing:Bust is 38 inches
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?It was fairly similar. I didn’t get the nice notched curve at the bottom hem. I opted for a sleeveless version which pairs well with jeans.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were typical vintage 1960s instructions. It did include instructions on the bound button holes but I found them a little confusing
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I loved the little bow. I love that it is vintage, but the back button design is harder for me to fasten on my own.
Fabric Used:Coral Rayon blend Linen look
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I added an inch of length to the bottom. Also, I did about 1 inch hollow chest adjustment.
I added facings to the bottom back of the blouse. I totally missed that the back did not have a facing and was a turned under hem
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I would definitely consider sewing it again. I would only recommend it to someone who adores vintage. I don’t think there is any way to “update” this style to really look modern without losing the items that makes it an unique top.
Conclusion: It is a cute blouse that will get a lot of wear with jeans. I liked that bottom pairing with it the best. See more on my blog sewbeading
