|Pattern Description: Sleeveless shell with draped front, I made view B. This pattern has been reviewed extensively, so I'll keep this short. Just posting the review because it's fun to see different looks from the same pattern! I've also included pictures of a second top I made from the same pattern in a jersey spandex Missoni type knit. |
Brown Shell Photos
Pattern Sizing:XS-S-M, I cut a size Small, it runs big per other reviewers, which was true. However - the small was a tad snug, so I ended up taking 3/8" seams on the sides.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Very.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?Simple, quick, flattering. Only takes one yard of fabric, and layers beautifully.
Fabric Used:Some type of poly/lycra I purchased from Emma Seabrooke at the sewing expo a couple years ago, and am just getting around to sewing.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Added 1" to the length. Serged the armhole edges, sewed side seams, and then clipped the armhole curve Armhole clipping before turning under to make sure armhole topstitching layed flatArmhole Topstitching . Probably not the ideal technique, but it has held up fine in the wash.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Absolutely!
Conclusion: Quick and satisfying!
