I made only the swim bottoms of this particular pattern (Piece C).
The pattern runs very large. My hip/waist measurements equated to a size 14 on the envelope, yet the size 8 I ended up making fit perfectly - maybe even fit a bit loose.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. Looked just like it - very happy with the result.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
For the most part. Some wording was a big vague, but it is a simple shorts pattern and fairly easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The shape of the shorts are perfect for swim bottoms. They also are great as I plan to use them - a pair of athletic/volleyball/spandex shorts! The pattern shows exactly how to lengthen the waist portion or leg portion if desired.
Rayon/Poly/Spandex blend with 4-way stretch. I wasn't very picky as far as fabric went - it was on sale and I liked the pattern!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I omitted the belt and belt loops, since I'll be using these as athletic shorts. Also, the pattern calls for a jersey fabric, but I used a spandex blend instead.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. I plan on using it for spandex shorts when I want a new pair for running/roller derby! I'd recommend using it, but be careful when you chose your size! If you like loose swim bottoms, go with your measurements. Otherwise, go down a few sizes, especially if your chosen fabric has more than 20% stretch.
Great "booty shorts" pattern for dance/swim/running/skating/volleyball! Go down a few sizes to keep these bottoms from being baggy.
