The perfect basic tee! The Renfrew Top is a fitted knit top with sleeve and neckline variations. View A has long sleeves and a scoop neckline. View B has short sleeves and a deep V neckline. View C has a dramatic cowl neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. Mix and match any of the sleeves with any of the neckline options for unlimited possibilities!
This is the knit top pattern for people who dislike sewing with knits. Instead of standard machine-stitched hems, the sleeve and body hems are finished with bands. These banded hems are easy to sew and finish the edge in a professional-looking way.
0-16. I made a straight size 8.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were great. Sewaholic instructions amaze me, they look so short on the one side of paper but are so incredibly concise!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the bands on all edges, I think it gives a nice professional finish without the need for a serger.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't make any alterations because it was my first time making the pattern. The picture I posted is a little misleading because I pulled down the top to get rid of the wrinkles that persist above my bust.
After reading other blogs I realized that this seems to be a commonality for the Renfrew and one thing that might help is lowing the armscye. Also I think I need a little more width in the bust for the top to sit comfortably.
Sewaholic patterns that designed for a pear-shape, which I am not, so I didn't know whether it was going to be way too wide at the bottom. Luckily, the top is short enough that it seems to avoid this problem!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I will sew it again and would recommend it.
Great top - hopefully after some alterations it will become a TNT pattern for me! I need some new tops! More pics on my blog!
