Misses Chanel-style jacket Pattern Sizing:
12-14-16 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. I made View B without the pockets.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I particularly liked the back neck facing and the back lining pleat. Fabric Used:
Linen-look from Joann Fabrics. I would have chosen a boucle or suiting, but my mother-in-law loved the color. I was afraid it would be too lightweight, but it worked out fine as a light jacket. It was very easy to sew. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I had to make significant alterations to fit my model. This was the first time I've sewn a tailored garment for anyone outside my immediate family. I had to taper from a 12 at the shoulders to an 18 at the hips and remove excess curvature from the seams at the upper chest and upper back. Once I transferred the changes from the muslin to the paper pattern, though, it was very easy to sew up.
I trimmed the jacket with soutache braid and glamorous buttons, both chosen by my mother-in-law. It looks very sharp. I hope it fits.
