I wear a bow tie everyday and I have made a lot of bow ties. You can find the hardware from www.bblackandsons.com. Very reasonable and ships very quick. Also they have cumberbund hardware and clips for old fashioned bowties.

Tessa: It has a clip in back. I'll work on your suggestion. Thanks.

I got this pattern with the idea of making a cummerbund for dh. I'm glad to read of your experience. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review, and the source for the hardware. Does the bowtie actually tie around the neck, or is it premade and fastened at the back with a clip? If it does, could you wrap the small section around the bow and then hand sew it together? I'm looking at a silk bowtie, and that's how it was made.
