|I've been sewing lingerie for years, but this is the first thong I've made, as I'm not particularly fond of them myself. My daughter likes them though, so I made two for her. |
A sewing pattern in sizes S-XL for thong underwear with stretch lace sides and diamond contrast back front and back. Full illustrated instructions are included.
Small to XL, corresponding to Burda sizes 32-46 and US sizes 6-20.
Based on what I would use for my daughter in Burda's sizing I used the medium size, which was fine.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were good and clear, including where to put the scallop edge of the lace. Having sewn a lot of lingerie this was not new to me, it's good information to include.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a nice pattern and it's FREE. Apart from that it's easy to sew, under an hour for one.
Stretch lace and lingerie lycra.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None for the first one, the second one I made a bit shorter in the crotch length on request of my daughter, who thought it was a little too long. She wore the first one today and said it was comfortable and better than most of the rtw ones.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I'll be sewing more of them on special request of my daughter.
Melissa made a very nice pattern. Try it if you want to sew this style.
Second (artificial light)
I made an accompanying bra as well, but no pattern was used for this, so there is no separate review.
